About Mrs. Freeman

Hi! My name is Julie Freeman.  I grew up the youngest of four children in a town in Connecticut.  My siblings and I are all very close, and still have tons of fun together!  My sister and her family live right here in Monroe! I also have a brother who lives in northern New Jersey with his wife and two children, and another brother who lives in Connecticut, with his wife and two children. 

My husband, Eric, and I live in Manalapan with Samuel, our three-year-old, and Callie, who just turned 1! Sam is the goofiest, most curious, wonderful little boy! Callie is bright sunshine, who loves music, Sam, and her fluffy kitty.  I'm sure you will hear all about them, and hopefully meet them soon! We also have a cat, Jackson, who we all love very much!

Below are some pictures of me and my family. You can see that we are all very close, and we love spending time together, having adventures, and just being silly!


I went to college at Brandeis University, which is close to Boston, MA.  I studied Theater and Psychology, and graduated in 2011.  I then went to school to get my teaching certification at Rider University in New Jersey, and have been here ever since! I later taught 4th grade in South Brunswick for four years, and then transitioned to Brookside to teach 3rd grade.  This is my 8th year at Brookside, and I am back to teaching 4th grade! I am beyond excited to continue working in such a wonderful community!

​When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, singing with my a cappella group, acting in musicals, baking yummy snacks, exercising, and watching movies. ​
